Regulated and licensed by the Government of Gibraltar, the Group has over 1,200 employees located in the head office and operations centre in Gibraltar, a business process outsourcing operation in India, and a marketing services subsidiary and multi-lingual customer service operations in Europe. The Group has customers throughout the world. PartyGaming does not accept wagers or deposits for real money games from customers located in the US.

In August 2006, the Group acquired Gamebookers, a non-US facing sports betting business.

On 13 October 2006 the US passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act ('UIGEA'), effectively making it illegal to offer online games to US persons. As a result, the Group immediately took action to block access to its sites by customers based in the US.
